Plug Ugly - Heather Black
In the early years of the fire service, volunteer fire departments would be paid by the insurance companies for extinguishing fires. Different engine companies would often fight each other for the privilege and the payout afterwards.
The competing companies would send the meanest, toughest, biggest, guy they had to guard the plug (hydrant). Anyone from another crew who came near it would have to fight him. This is where the term plug ugly comes from.
This shirt is for the old school, bent-nosed brawlers who've found a more productive way to spend their energy and aggression.
